That is owner Ervin Yoder’s way of doing business, but it isn’t something he put on because it’s the latest trend. It’s the way he was born and raised. In 1999, Ervin founded Hill Finishing with a couple of accounts and one part-time employee. He worked hard and served his clients well. By 2006, he renamed his company Superior Furniture with the vision of designing and making the very finest in dining room collections and occasionals. Growth followed quickly because all of his employees shared his passion for excellence in design, manufacturing, and in customer service. That kind of commitment isn’t found everywhere. The Finest Hardwoods
The beauty of solid hardwood is on the outside, but under the surface lies a combination of strength, flexibility, and durability that cannot be matched by synthetic or engineered substitutes.
The first critical step we take in producing fine hardwood furniture is selecting the best and most consistent woods. We then store our lumber in a humidity-controlled environment to minimize its expansion and contraction during manufacturing.
One characteristic of solid hardwood furniture is that each plank used is unique. There are natural variations in color – lighter pieces are closer to the bark, darker pieces are closer to the tree’s center. At Superior Furniture we use both variations of color to give our bedroom suites a rich and outstanding beauty.
You will find natural markings on your bedroom suite, such as knots where the tree branches grew. They do not affect the strength and attest to the fact that your piece is genuine solid hardwood with all of its charming irregularities.
